COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Edmonton Oilers left wing Taylor Hall was hurt when he accidentally made contact with a teammate during team warmups before the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

Team spokesman J.J. Hebert confirmed that Hall “fell and a teammate tried to avoid him and his skate cut him.”

Hall, who was not wearing a helmet, had blood running down the side of his head while a trainer tried to staunch the flow.

The 20-year-old, the first overall pick in the 2010 draft, was helped to the dressing room.

He has 15 goals and 16 assists in 36 games.
