Camas planning conference set

Annual event begins Jan. 27

The City of Camas will hold its annual planning conference later this month.

Members of the City Council, as well as city staff and department heads will gather Friday, Jan. 27, from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 28, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Camas Community Center, 1718 S.E. Seventh Ave.

Topics are expected to include an update on the status of the trial merger between the Camas and Washougal fire departments, and the upcoming EMS levy; collaborative efforts between the city and Camas School District; the city’s role in the Bonneville Power Administration project; public safety needs and funding; and a city technology upgrade.

The event will be facilitated by Camas School District Superintendent Mike Nerland, at no expense to the city.
