EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Lane County authorities are looking for a man who managed to evade officers on foot after leading them on a high speed, 3.3-mile car chase.

The Eugene Register-Guard reports that (http://bit.ly/wdvAz8 ) police think the man is responsible for a residential burglary that happened shortly before a Lane County tried to pull him over.

Sgt. Chris Doyle says Sunday that officers found stolen property found in the pickup, including electronics and jewelry.

After the car pursuit, the man abandoned the pickup and ran from the scene. The driver scaled several fences and ran through yards in a residential area.

Police and K-9 units from the sheriff’s office and Eugene Police Department were deployed, but the driver was not located.

The driver is described as a white male, about 5-feet-8-inches tall, with dark-brown, collar-length, curly and wavy hair.
