LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Jordan Hooper had 21 points and 11 rebounds as No. 19 Nebraska used a 34-4 run in the middle of the game to beat Indiana 62-48 in the Cornhuskers’ first Big Ten home gameThursday night.
The Cornhuskers (13-1, 2-0) won their seventh straight overall. The Hoosiers (5-11, 0-3) have lost each of their conference games by double digits.
Nebraska freshman Emily Cady matched her season high with 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Indiana’s Sasha Chaplin scored 15 points and blocked four shots.
Indiana, which shot 24 percent in a 41-point loss to Minnesota on Monday, had a 10-point lead 6 1/2 minutes into the game and was up 20-12 after making 9 of its first 13 shots.
But the Huskers tightened their man-to-man defense, forced two shot-clock violations and nine other turnovers and outscored the Hoosiers 25-4 the last 11 minutes of the half.
