OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The state Department of Ecology is set to announce it has granted major water rights for the cities of Olympia and Lacey and the Nisqually Tribe to support growth and development for the next 30 years.

The Olympian (http://is.gd/5IVsNE ) reports ecology officials are ready to grant new water rights for the City of Yelm, but that permit has been appealed to the Pollution Control Hearings Board and the issue isn’t expected to be resolved until summer.

The water supply plan took more than 15 years to complete. The collaboration also includes habitat restoration projects and introduction of reclaimed wastewater.
