The 15-year-old wounded in Tuesday afternoon’s shooting at Clackamas Town Center has improved from serious to fair condition at OHSU Hospital in Portland.
Kristina Shevchenko, a Portland-area resident, was shot in the chest when gunman Jacob Tyler Roberts opened fire in the mall. Roberts, 22, of Portland, killed two other people, then committed suicide.
A trauma surgeon at the hospital said Wednesday that Shevchenko is expected to make a full recovery. So far, more than $2,700 has been raised to support her medical care.
Anyone can donate at any Wells Fargo branch or online at http://wepay.com/donations/kristina-shevchenko to help pay Shevchenko’s medical bills. People can also text 28594 with the word “support” in the message; a prompt will ask for the donation amount.
