WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Wizards say guard John Wall is ready to begin “ramping up his activity level” as he recovers from a stress injury to his left knee cap.

The former No. 1 overall draft pick was re-examined Friday by Dr. David Altchek, who said Wall is showing improvement but that there is still some irritation in the knee.

The doctor said Wall has been treated with three lubricating injections. He did not give a timetable for Wall’s return to the lineup.

The Wizards announced Wall’s injury on Sept. 28 and estimated that he would be sidelined about two months.

Instead, Wall has remained limited to taking standing-still jump shots in practice. Without him, the Wizards began 0-12 and were 3-16 going into Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
