SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Torrey Craig scored 31 points and South Carolina Upstate used an early 18-0 run to build a big halftime lead in an 88-77 victory over Texas-San Antonio Saturday.
The Spartans (4-5), who also got 15 points apiece from Adrian Rodgers and Ty Greene, led 43-22 at the half and avenged a 67-59 loss at Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 17.
Craig has scored in double figures in all nine games this season. The forward shot 9 for 15 from the floor, hitting two 3-pointers. Craig also was 11 for 14 at the foul line.
Greene’s 15 points came on five treys in six attempts. South Carolina Upstate shot 61.2 percent from the field (30 of 49).
Kannon Burrage led Texas-San Antonio (3-6) with 25 points. Forward Jeromie Hill recorded a double-double (23 points, 10 rebounds). Michael Hale III added 16 points as the trio scored 64 of UTSA’s points.
