SAN DIEGO (AP) — Johnny Dee scored 23 points and sunk five 3-pointers to lead San Diego past Tulane 78-72 on Saturday night.
Dee scored 15 of his 23 points in the second half, and hit a big 3-pointer with 3:31 to play to give the Toreros a 69-64 lead, their biggest of the second half up until that point.
San Diego (5-5) trailed 62-59 with 5:15 to play before the Toreros made their run. Ken Rancifer hit a 3-pointer for San Diego to tie it at 62, beginning a 19-10 run over the final minutes. Chris Anderson gave the Toreros a 66-64 lead after his lay-up with 3:56 remaining and from that point on, San Diego never trailed again.
Rancifer had 16 points and Chris Manresa had 10 points and six rebounds for the Toreros.
Josh Davis led Tulane (7-3) with 19 points and eight rebounds. Rick Tarrant, Jordan Callahan and Tre Drye each had 12.
