North Dakota State whips Morehead State 69-57

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Taylor Braun scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and North Dakota State opened the second half with a 12-0 run en route to a 69-57 victory over Morehead State on Wednesday night.

Angelo Warner led Morehead State (4-5) with 14 points, and Milton Chavis and Chad Posthumus scored 13 apiece.

After leading 33-19 at halftime, North Dakota State (7-3) put the game away with the run. Kory Brown, TrayVonn Wright and Braun each scored four points each. That gave the Bison a 45-19 advantage 4:16 into the second half before Angelo Warner hit a jumper to make it 45-21.

Morehead State shot 42.3 percent from the field (22 of 52) to the Eagles’ 30.5 percent (18 of 59) and outshot them from 3-point range 7 of 19 to 2 of 17.

It marked the first meeting between the teams, but they square off again in Fargo on Dec. 21.
