Muscala scores 17 as Bucknell routs Colgate 76-49

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Mike Muscala scored 17 points and had three blocked shots to help Bucknell extend its win streak to eight games, routing Colgate 76-49 on Saturday night.

The Bison (14-7, 5-0 Patriot League) start conference play with five straight wins for the first time since the 2005-06 season when they went 14-0. Bryson Johnson finished with 12 points and Joe Willman added 10.

Bucknell pulled away early from the Raiders (3-16, 1-4), taking a 34-17 lead with 6:13 left in the first half on two free throws by Muscala, who went 7 of 7 from the line. The Bison went into halftime with a 47-26 lead, as Colgate never threatened the rest of the way.

Bucknell shot 46.2 percent (24 of 52) from the floor, while holding the Raiders to 25 percent (12 of 48). The Bison also forced 18 turnovers.

Yaw Gyawu led Colgate with 12 points and Brandon James added 11.
