A 30-year-old woman was fatally injured Wednesday when she was hit by a car on Interstate 5 northbound, just north of the I-5 Bridge.
Shannon R. Brink, 30, of Vancouver was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified by the Washington State Patrol in a press release issued shortly after midnight.
Firefighters, state troopers and paramedics rushed to the scene at 6:50 p.m. and quickly blocked the left and center lanes where Brink was found. Paramedics performed advanced life support techniques on her for a long time, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, said Capt. Scott Willis, a spokesman with the Vancouver Fire Department.
Brink was crossing the road when she was struck by a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, according to the press release.
