DETROIT (AP) — Armando Galarraga and the Detroit Tigers have agreed to a $2.3 million, one-year contract that avoided salary arbitration.
The right-hander missed a perfect game June 2 when a bad call cost him what would have been the final out. He went 4-9 with a 4.49 ERA last year in 24 starts and made $437,000. He also made eight appearances with Triple-A Toledo in 2010, going 4-2 with a 3.65 ERA.
Galarraga was the last remaining Tiger eligible for arbitration.
Galarraga turned 29 Saturday. In four major league seasons — three with Detroit and one with Texas — he is 23-26 with a 4.58 ERA.
