VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Clark County prosecutors are recommending a 35-year prison term for a 23-year-old man for a home-invasion killing at west Vancouver.
The Columbian reports Douglas A. Marquis entered a Newton plea on Wednesday — a type of guilty plea that admits prosecutors had evidence to prove their murder and robbery charges. He’ll be sentenced Feb. 9.
Prosecutors say he was one of five masked people responsible for shooting 46-year-old Charles Moore in a December 2009 robbery at his home. Prosecutors say they followed a map from Moore’s ex-girlfriend. She has pleaded guilty.
One of the robbers already has been sentenced to 35 years in prison, two others have pleaded guilty and await sentencing and one has agreed to plead guilty.
