RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Johnathan Edwards and Jeremy Robinson each scored 11 points and Radford withstood a late rally to defeat High Point 64-59 on Saturday night.
Radford (4-11, 1-4 Big South Conference) mounted its biggest lead of the game, an eight-point advantage, with 47 seconds left. Then Nick Barbour nearly singlehandedly rallied the Panthers (5-9, 2-3) into the lead. He hit back-to-back 3-pointers and added two free throws to bring High Point to within 60-59.
But Robinson, who scored all his points by making 11 of 14 free-throw tries, sank two at the line. Evan Faulkner added two more free throws to close out the scoring.
Barbour finished with 22 points.
High Point committed 21 turnovers, leading to 25 Radford points. That helped the Highlanders overcome the Panthers’ 25-20 halftime advantage.
