CHENNAI, India (AP) — Stanislas Wawrinka beat top-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-1 to advance to his second straight final at the Chennai Open on Saturday.

The third-seeded Swiss will play seventh-seeded Xavier Malisse of Belgium on Sunday.

Wawrinka, who lost to Marin Cilic in last year’s final, steadily took control of the match against sixth-ranked Berdych, who beat Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic on his way to the Wimbledon final last year.

In the other semifinal match, 2007 champion Malisse rallied to beat Serbia’s Janko Tipsarevic 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
