Saint Louis rolls past Texas Southern 71-39

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Brian Conklin scored 15 points and Saint Louis coasted past Texas Southern 71-39 on Tuesday night.

Mike McCall Jr. was the only other player in double figures for either team, scoring 10 points for the Billikens (12-1). But five other Saint Louis players had at least six points.

Saint Louis never trailed and shot 59 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes to build a 41-19 halftime lead. They cooled off to 36 percent after the break and finished at 48 percent, but still increased their lead to as many as 37 points.

Omar Strong was the leading scorer for Texas Southern (1-10) with nine points. The Tigers made 31 percent of their shots from the field and only 7 of 17 free-throw tries, or 41 percent.
