What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

Seahawks running back Justin Forsett is a new Talking Points favorite for his tongue-in-cheek comments about the interception return skills of defensive lineman Red Bryant.

Bryant intercepted a pass against the Rams in November and showed an impressive stiff arm during his return. Against Chicago on Sunday, Bryant made another interception and high-stepped his way into the end zone.

“He’s improved,” Forsett said. “This time, he didn’t get touched. He didn’t need to use any stiff arm, and I love the high step. He definitely created a lot of separation. People underestimate his athleticism, man.”

There’s a quarterback controversy building in Tennessee, where starter Matt Hasselbeck is struggling and newcomer Jake Locker is playing well in relief.

Hasselbeck is not completely healthy, but had a sluggish first half and two interceptions in the third quarter against previously winless Indianapolis before being pulled for Locker with 6:13 left in the game.

Hasselbeck was 8-of-16 passing for 78 yards. His rating was 60.7. Locker was 11-of-16 for 108 yards and a TD. He posted a passer rating of 108.3.

“He always gives us a spark,” wide receiver Damian Williams said of Locker. “He’s a heck of a competitor. Obviously he’s a playmaker. When he gets an opportunity, he takes advantage of it.”

The way Sunday’s game played out is sure to bring calls for Locker as the Titans ready for the Jaguars on Saturday in Jacksonville.
