Boys basketball: Mountain View 80, Washougal 50

Mountain View 80, Washougal 50 — The hot-shooting thunder overwhelmed the host Panthers from the start and handed Washougal its first loss of the season.

Mountain View built a 25-point halftime lead and cruised to the win.

Zach Thorson scored 26 points and Luke Duchesne added 21 to lead the way for the Thunder (4-2). Nine of Mountain View’s 30 field goals were 3-pointers.

Washougal coach Malcolm Estes described Mountain View’s performance as “very impressive.” He said the Thunder ran the floor well, shot well from the perimeter, and were strong on defense.

Michael McElroy led Washougal (8-1) with 11 points.
