Letter: Good schools attract

The Columbian
Published: December 13, 2011, 4:00pm

A thriving community has many facets, one of which is a high-quality educational system. Good schools make an area more attractive, which brings new residents, new homes and new retail opportunities. Those new homeowners and businesses pay taxes and lower the tax burden to existing residents and businesses.

As a developer, I have sought to create projects of all types that enrich communities. Like all property owners in the greater Ridgefield area, our projects will pay additional costs of a successful Ridgefield School District bond measure. We will gladly do so, as we know that the benefits of such a measure far surpass the costs. Having good schools increases the value of homes, businesses, and land.

Please join me in supporting the Ridgefield schools, and vote “yes” on the bond measure in February.
