B.G. schools hearing focuses on district boundaries

The Battle Ground School District will hold a public hearing Monday to discuss proposed adjustments to its five “director districts.”

The boundaries under discussion define the area which each elected board member must live. They do not impact where students attend school.

Monday’s hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Building C at the Lewisville campus, 406 N.W. Sixth Ave., Battle Ground.

The board is expected to take action at its Dec. 12 meeting, also at the Lewisville campus.

State law requires school director districts are redistricted after each 10-year census, in order to make each roughly equivalent in population while keeping each as compact as possible.
