Edmondson paces Austin Peay over Brescia 101-46

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — TyShwan Edmondson scored 23 points as Austin Peay rolled to a 101-46 victory over Brescia on Tuesday night.

Edmondson, the Ohio Valley Conference’s leading scorer, hit a 3-pointer from the wing 36 seconds into the contest and the Governors (9-6) went on to score the game’s first 17 points.

They led 48-18 at halftime after shooting 64.5 percent (20 of 31) in the first half to 21.9 percent (7 of 32) for the Bearcats (4-10), their NAIA opponent.

Josh Terry added 19 points for Austin Peay, Caleb Brown had 14 and Tyrone Caldwell 10.

Brown also had seven assists for the Governors, whose total of 30 was a record at the Dunn Center, breaking their mark of 28 set against Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 7, 1977.

Derrick Thornberry scored 15 points for Brescia, the only Bearcats player in double figures.
