SULTAN, Wash. (AP) — City officials say that Sultan’s Boys and Girls Club was destroyed Friday by a fire that gutted the two-story building.

The Everett Herald reports that the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Firefighters first responded to calls of the fire about 1:30 a.m. Friday. The blaze also damaged a daycare next door.

Sultan Police Chief Jeff Brand says the city-owned building is a total loss. He says the fire is not suspicious.

About 100 children attend the club daily and city officials say they have found temporary space for the club to operate in at the Sky Valley Family and Community Resource Center.
