HONOLULU (AP) — President Barack Obama has arrived in his home state for a 10-day family vacation.

Air Force One touched down shortly before midnight Wednesday local time. Obama had planned to arrive here Saturday but pushed back his departure to stay in Washington while lawmakers wrapped up a frenzied and productive lame-duck session.

The president is joining his wife, Michelle, daughters Malia and Sasha, and dog Bo, who have been vacationing at the family’s rented oceanfront home since last weekend.

The first family is expected to return to Washington on Jan. 2.
