Vancouver firefighters snuffed out smoldering hot spots tucked behind a wall at a home in the 3100 block of Northeast 86th Avenue on Monday morning.
Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department arrived to the Burton neighborhood house to see smoke blowing to the east. The fire was reported at 8:29 a.m. and the first responders reached the home six minutes later.
Firefighters entered the home and used thermal imaging cameras to locate patches of fire behind a wall and in a crawl space. The fire was under control at 8:48 a.m.
Chris Moen, a fire department spokesman, characterized damage to the home as “moderate.” The preliminary estimate was $10,000.
