EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Brandon Jacobs has been in the zone since getting his job back as the New York Giants’ No. 1 running back.

The big bruising halfback has carried the ball 22 times for 190 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 8.64 yards.

The timing could not have been better for New York (8-4). The running game picked up against Jacksonville and Washington in weeks where leading receivers Steve Smith and Hakeem Nicks were sidelined with injuries.
