Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beats St. Edward’s 77-56

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Demond Watt had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Justin Reynolds added 15 points as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi defeated St. Edward’s 77-56 Wednesday night.

Hollis Hill added 11 points for the Islanders (3-5), who squashed an early second-half rally by St. Edward’s with a 26-4 run.

Khaliq Gross scored 18 points and Remy Boswell had 12 for the Hilltoppers, a Division II team which counted this game as an exhibition.

Corpus Christi led 40-27 at halftime and scored the first four points of the second half before St. Edward’s pulled to within 51-47 with 12:54 to play. Reynolds then scored five of the game’s next seven points to spark the big run, and the Islanders went up 77-51 with 2:53 remaining.

Corpus Christi outrebounded St. Edward’s 44-20 and shot 50.9 percent.
