HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — A Las Vegas physician who found the body of professional golfer Erica Blasberg after she committed suicide has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor obstruction.
Henderson Municipal Judge Diana Hampton sentenced Dr. Thomas Hess on Wednesday to one year probation and 40 hours of community service.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Hess told authorities he removed a suicide note and prescription medications from Blasberg’s home before police arrived to investigate her death.
Hess says he wanted to spare her family embarrassment.
The 25-year-old Blasberg was found May 9 with a plastic bag over her head at her Henderson, Nev., home.
