Melissa Tiefenthaler got a grant from the Vancouver Safe Neighborhood Streets Fund to install the city's first rubber sidewalk in the Hough neighborhood. The flexible sidewalk helped save a tree whose roots had upheaved the concrete sidewalk, causing a tripping hazard.
