The Clark County Newcomers Club donated $4,077 to Second Step Housing, the club’s chosen charity for the year. Vi Towne walks along Southeast Evergreen Highway near her home where there are no sidewalks for pedestrians. Towne usually drives a mile to the nearest area with a sidewalk for her walks. A collaboration between area residents and the city of Vancouver is working to provide a safe walking and cycling access along the former highway.
