Raven Jackson, chief veterinarian at Chimp Haven in Keithville, Louisiana, looks in on Axel, a 31-year-old male chimpanzee, that was coaxed inside a transport cage at the shuttered Wildlife Waystation in the Angeles National Forest. Eight of the last 10 remaining chimpanzees at the Waystation were individually coaxed into transport cages and loaded into a moving van for the 1,600-mile journey east to Chimp Haven.
