Clark County Jail releases inmate who should have gone back to Oregon to serve sentence

Officials have issued a warrant for the arrest of Maurice Xavier Haynes, 27, after he was erroneously released from the Clark County Jail after completing a local sentence. He should’ve instead been transported to complete a 15-month prison sentence in Oregon.

The Clark County Auditor’s Office announced ballot boxes would be staffed with observers 24/7 until the end of the election after boxes in Vancouver and Portland, including the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center ballot box were targeted by arson early Monday morning.
