Officials closed part of the refuge and canceled a bird hunt last week due to safety concerns connected to the ongoing standoff between armed protestors and law enforcement in Southeast Oregon. The Ridgefield refuge has since re-opened, and the regular waterfowl hunting schedule has resumed, according to the refuge.
