La Center Police Chief Marc Denney is hopeful the new Ilani casino brings more people to the city, and said he thinks his department will respond to calls at the casino only if the Clark County Sheriff&#039;s Office asks for assistance. The county and Cowlitz Tribe are working on an agreement for law enforcement services, and Denney said his already short-staffed department doesn&#039;t want to take away services from La Center residents by going over to the casino too often.
