NOW (Neighbors On Watch) volunteers are taking to the streets of Vancouver to inventory out-of-state license plates in neighborhoods. Scott Abels, a NOW volunteer, puts a notice on a car with out-of-state license plates in the Landover-Sharmel neighborhood. On top off loosing revenue from license plate cheats, the city of Vancouver could be missing out on $4 million in sales tax as a result of Washington residents keeping their Oregon driver’s licenses and opting out of sales tax at the register.
