The Patriot Prayer movement, headed by Joey Gibson, gathers in Vancouver on Aug. 4 to board buses to take them to Gibson's speech at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland. Patriot's Prayer, Proud Boys, and the Three Percenters load into transport buses headed to the Portland protest. Citing the potential for violence, Southwest Washington Communities United for Change canceled a planned rally scheduled for Saturday that was intended to be a show of unity and condemnation of what it says is growing racism in the area. An organization press release in advance of the now-canceled event specifically mentioned the Aug. 4 rally for Gibson.
