A bullet struck a car on eastbound state Highway 14 in Vancouver on Tuesday night, causing injuries to the driver, according to Washington State Patrol. Read story

Kathy Decker, a candidate for Vancouver Public Schools Board of Directors Position 4, studies her campaign material in the parking lot of Grocery Outlet before campaigning at the Fourth Plain Community Market. Decker resigned her position as a kindergarten teacher at Peter S. Ogden Elementary School to run for school board, saying her experience as a teacher will help her frame policy and direction for Clark County’s second-largest school district. She’s one of several other teachers running for political office this campaign cycle.
