A burglary resulting in the loss of $50,000 worth of firefighting and emergency equipment from a Woodland fire station could temporarily slow emergency services to the nearby rural community, fire officials said Tuesday. Read story

Fire District 3 trucks are parked in the garage at Station 35 in Battle Ground. The city is discussing annexing into the district instead of just contracting with the district, which can only be approved through a public vote. The change would mean a new fire levy for city residents, although could result in savings elsewhere for taxpayers.
