According to a Vancouver Police Department statement, a man tried to abduct the 11-year-old from Lieser Crest Park in the Heights about 3:40 p.m. A witness intervened and the suspect released the child. He then ran to a vehicle and fled the area, headed north of Fredericksburg Way toward Mill Plain Boulevard.
