Letter: Don’t be fooled by Kent

Saturday letters

Joe Kent’s green campaign signs are a blatant attempt to mislead voters. This is political greenwashing, an attempt to disguise his extremist “America First” agenda behind a false image of environmental concern.

He supports expanding fossil fuel production and opposes the clean-energy transition essential to combating climate change. His policies would undo years of progress on climate action and threaten the natural beauty of Clark County.

Don’t be fooled by the greenwash. Kent’s climate denialism extremist views are a danger to both our environment and our future. Southwest Washington deserves leaders like Marie Gluesenkamp Perez who prioritize real environmental and economic sustainability.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
