BATTLE GROUND — Jackson Kimball pulled in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Deven Vigue in the closing seconds to lift Prairie to a wild 43-38 win over Battle Ground on Friday at District Stadium.
After jumping out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter, Battle Ground led for the entire first half and took a 26-14 lead in the third quarter.
But Prairie answered with two touchdowns, taking a 29-26 lead on Preston Hill’s third touchdown of the night — a 28-yard touchdown pass from Vigue.
Battle Ground reclaimed the lead 32-29 on Quinten Overholser’s 6-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Adams.
But Prairie quickly responded on its next possession, jumping back ahead 36-32 on Alex Blakeslee’s 43-yard touchdown pass from Vigue.
Adams put together another drive for the Tigers, hitting Dominick Rivas with several key passes to set up Adams’ 2-yard touchdown run that gave Battle Ground a 38-36 lead with 1:06 left.
But the Falcons weren’t done yet. Vigue led Prairie downfield before hitting Kimball downfield with a deep pass. Kimball then spun out of two would-be tacklers at the 2-yard line to score the game-winner.
Vigue threw four touchdown passes and rushed for another for Prairie, while Preston Hill scored three touchdowns.
Adams threw four touchdown passes for Battle Ground and rushed for another.
