TraMayne Jenkins caught a touchdown pass from Jaxson Rivenes with 3:49 to play, and R.A. Long withstood an errant last-minute field goal attempt by Hudson’s Bay to beat the Eagles 22-21 in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game Friday at Kiggins Bowl.
A gritty defensive battle turned into a back-and-forth finish as Hudson’s Bay completed a 14-play, 99-yard touchdown drive when Michael Miller hit Saith Elguea-Zarate with a 34-yard touchdown pass play to put Hudson’s Bay up 21-14 with 8:47 left to play.
All three of Bay’s touchdowns were scored on fourth-down plays. After extending their lead to seven point in the fourth quarter, the Eagles tried to extend it to nine point, but the two-point conversion was unsuccessful.
R.A. Long then drove 64 yards on nine plays as Rivenes hits Jenkins in the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-goal with 3:49 left.
