Letter: Trump is unpatriotic

The letter “Trump is patriotic” (Our Readers’ Views, Sept. 14) follows right along with Trump’s history of lying. Trump’s disdain for our military is lengthy. The “I like people who weren’t captured” insult about John McCain is rich coming from a coward who got a bogus 4F deferment to avoid service in Vietnam. Trump calling veterans “suckers and losers” is certainly unpatriotic. Trump’s submission to Putin at Helsinki in 2018 was again an act of cowardice.

In fact, there is nothing Trump has ever done that is really patriotic.
