Kolten Gesser of Seton Catholic is The Columbian 2024 Week 2 prep football player of the week

Junior passed for 258 yards and six touchdowns last week

Kolten Gesser of Seton Catholic is the The Columbian 2024 Week 2 high school football player of the week.

Gesser received 1,014 votes to win the honor.

The junior quarterback passed for 258 yards and six touchdowns in a 46-6 win over Mark Morris.

Nominees are selected by The Columbian staff after a review of the previous week’s results. Suggestions for nominees can by made by anyone, but must be received by 6 p.m. Sunday for consideration.

Winners of the player-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are what the other Week 2 nominees accomplished:

AIDEN BROWN, KALAMA: The senior quarterback rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 169 yards and two more TDs in a win over Tenino.

ADEN MINTONYE, KELSO: The senior running back rushed for 262 yards and five touchdowns in a win over River Ridge.

OWEN PAULSEN, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN: The sophomore quarterback passed for 307 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Hoquiam.

CLY STEPHENS, RIDGEFIELD: The senior running back rushed for 187 yards and the game-winning touchdown in a win over Montesano.
