Prep highlights: Camas wins Titan Cup golf for first time since 2021

A year after finishing fourth out of four teams, the Camas Papermakers boys golf team took home the Titan Cup on Tuesday.

Camas, which last won the Titan Cup in 2021, beat last year’s champ Union 3-2 in the morning alternate shot, and then topped Mountain View 5.5-4.5 in the afternoon singles matches at Camas Meadows.

Mountain View advanced to its match with Camas by beating Columbia River 4-1 in the morning.

Columbia River finished third with a 5.5-4.5 win over Union in the afternoon.

Oscar Rabideau and Evan Wilsey of Camas were winners in both their matches.

Rabideau teammed with Oliver Lance and they beat Ryder Duncan and Dennis Oleynik 2 and 1. In singles, Rabideau beat Mountain View’s Kanden Blanchard 3 and 2.

Wilsey and Andre Kosaki won their alternate shot match 2 and 1 over Union’s Jalen Butler and Nick Cowling. Wilsey then won his afternoon match 3 and 2 over Mountain View’s Brody Fellows.

Stars of the day

Rex Burt, Kelso boys golf, was medalist of a four-team 18-hole match with a 74 at Heron Lakes. He had the lowest score by three strokes against players from Skyview, Prairie and Heritage.

Joe Mentele, Skyview boys golf, had the low score for the Storm with a 77 at Heron Lakes to help Skyview win the four-team 18-hole match.

Brooklyn Vickery, Columbia River slowpitch, went 4 for 5 with a double and four RBI including the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat R.A. Long 12-11.

Kloey Miera, Fort Vancouver slowpitch, went 4 for 4 — all doubles — with four RBI  in the Trappers’ 11-9 win over Mountain View.

Bailey Espana, La Center volleyball, posted 14 assists, 11 digs, 4 kills and 2 blocks in the WIldcats’ straight-sets win over Kalama to open 1A Trico play.

Ava Krieger, Union girls soccer, netted four goals and an assist in the Titans’ 8-1 win over Kelso.

Hailey Herboth, Seton Catholic girls soccer, had a goal and two assists in the Cougars’ 7-1 win over Columbia-White Salmon.

Natalie Grajeda and Rhiannon Teasley, Camas girls soccer, combined for four saves in a 3-0 shutout of Olympia.

Tatyana Fobi, King’s Way Christian volleyball, had 19 assists, five digs and three aces in a three-set sweep of Fort Vancouver.

Brynnlee Williams, Skyview girls soccer, made four saves in a 4-0 shutout of Mountain View.

Peyton Quarles, Heritage volleyball,P had 17 assists, 11 digs and seven aces in a win over Mountain View.

Olivia Fauth, Stevenson volleyball, had 12 kills, four blocks and three digs in a win over Castle Rock.

Peyton Dukes, Columbia River girls soccer, had two goals and one assists in a 7-0 win over Mark Morris.

Maite Urzua-Sanchez, Washougal girls soccer, scored three goals in a 6-2 win over Hudson’s Bay.

Maddy Alldrin, Washougal girls soccer, had two goals and one assist in the win over Bay.
