Construction of a new picnic shelter at Klineline Pond will resume by early October. Clark County crews began working on the new shelter earlier this year but had to put the project on hold after a pair of bald eagles nested near the site.

Now that the eagles have moved on, crews can resume their work.

The former Pondview shelter is being replaced after being heavily damaged during a winter storm. The old shelter was demolished, and a new one is being built in its place. Construction is expected to finish by November.

During the week of Oct. 7, the contractor will pump concrete to the construction site. While impacts from the construction work should be minimal, park visitors may encounter some inconveniences. For their safety and the safety of work crews, visitors are reminded to stay out of work zones.

Construction is weather dependent, and the schedule is subject to change. Updates to the construction timeline are available at clark.wa.gov/public-works.
