League of Women Voters sets candidate forums ahead of Nov. 5 general election

The nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Clark County will host candidate forums for 10 Clark County races ahead of the Nov. 5 general election.

The forums will be aired on the government access channel CVTV and will be posted on cvtv.org. The forums will be open to the public, but space will be limited.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30, candidates for the 18th Legislative District House Position 2 seat will face off at Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue Station 26 in Battle Ground, 21609 N.E. 72nd Ave.

The second forum is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 1, also at Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue Station 26 in Battle Ground. The forum will include candidates for the 20th Legislative District House Position 2 seat, the Clark Public Utilities Commissioner Position 1 seat and the Clark County Council District 4 seat.

The third forum is from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. The forum will include candidates for the 17th Legislative District House Position 2 seat, the 18th Legislative District House Position 1 seat and the Clark County Council District 3 seat.

The last forum is from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St., in the Columbia Room. Candidates for the 49th Legislative District Senate seat and both House Position 1 and 2 seats will attend.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that promotes the informed and active participation of citizens in government.
