Letter: Trump is patriotic

Are you aware that Donald Trump was invited to the ceremony at Arlington by all 13 Gold Star families of the slain soldiers of the Abbey Gate bombing? (“Abcarian: Stunt should be disgusted by all,” The Columbian, Sept. 4) Where was Joe Biden? On the beach at Rehoboth. Where was Kamala Harris? Four miles away at Blair House. Why weren’t they there? Because all 13 families blame them for their children’s deaths due to Biden’s failed Afghanistan pullout.

Blame this on Trump? Trump negotiated the withdrawal of U.S. troops and had the levels down under 4,000 by the time he left office. But once the Taliban broke the conditions of the deal, Biden was under no obligation to commit the U.S. to the deal anymore. Yet, he emphatically continued, and blamed Trump.

Talk about “disgusting” — during his debate with Trump, Biden said that no U.S. troops have died under his watch. What a lie!

My parents are both buried in Arlington. Trump is a patriot. Biden and Harris are the disgusting ones.
