Letter: Report potholes to city

By Jean Kent, Vancouver
Published: September 14, 2024, 6:00am

It was interesting to read the letter to the editor regarding the high-quality line painting that the city of Vancouver has been accomplishing lately (“Roads are deteriorating,” Our Readers’ Views, Sept. 6). I agree! Those workers really know what they’re doing, and the result is beautiful, fresh paint on our streets.

I disagree about the potholes, though. It’s super simple to report a pothole (https://tinyurl.com/32x9hb29 or call 360-487-8177), and in my experience, that hole is taken care of within a day or two. It’s our responsibility as citizens to let the city’s Public Works Department know there’s a pothole somewhere within city boundaries.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
