Justin Noyons had an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the second half as the Heritage Timberwolves rallied for a 31-10 win over Hudson’s Bay on Friday at McKenzie Stadium.
Hudson’s Bay jumped out to a 10-0 lead behind a 25-yard field goal by Brant McLaren and a four-yard touchdown run by Xavier Lions.
Then the Timberwolves came to life when the Heritage defense backed up Bay deep in its own end, leading to a punt. A high snap over the punter’s head resulted in a safety to put Heritage on the board.
With a short field, Heritage wasted little time as Owen Daley connected with Jacob Karpyuk for a 33-yard pass down to the 7-yard line. That would lead to a 3-yard touchdown run by Ammanuel Daniel, and Daley’s run for two tied the game 10-10 heading into halftime.
